Anybody using the CLUTCH yet?

If so, hows it doing? Is it versatile? Durable? Reasonably strong (solid asymmetric)?

 What might it be comparable to, as far as popular equipment from other brands?

Didn't like it OOB. While it hit hard, I couldnt get the recovery out of it that I need out of a benchmark piece. Tried it polished with the same story.

Then decided to take advantage of the core numbers, and hit it with 1000grit abralon.

Ball is a man ball. Hit and roll is really impressive. It is easy to rev up when you want to (despite the rg numbers) and is easy to flatten out to control big backends.

I use it first out, and to compliment my sideways. When it starts going early I switch to the Sideways, and when the Sideways gets any hint of a squirt, I switch with full confidence to the Clutch.

I've been able to use the Clutch on Viper, Chameleon and Scorpion with confidence. Its not enough ball for Shark, and too much for me on Cheetah.

 Yes, it helps quite a bit. Right now, my villain is the strongest ball in my bag, with a pearl Orbit Extreme to go under it. I just need something a few boards stronger/a bit higher volume than the villain and was looking HARD at the CLUTCH.

 The SIDEWAYS sounds good, but I usually don't like REALLY sharp breakpoint balls, and tend to polish balls with smoother reactions for length AND control.

Like I said years ago, Phil is a genius on ball and core design, as well as coverstock technology. He put TRACK on the map, created DynoThane out of thin air, and now has this "fledgling" company taking wing, just about ready to fly.

 He thinks outside the box to make sure what's in the box is great.

 They don't get into the latest, greatest, most powerful stuff competition with other companies, but ALL the stuff they make works. They don't seem to "outsmart" themselves.

Dynothane was owned by Ron Wood from Las Vegas, just a heads up they were making great balls before Phil ever bought them.

Now I agree Phil is awesome at creating great stuff and I am one of fan boys lol

Actually Dynothane was owned by Ron but I/we (track and Columbia) built and designed most/many of his original cores. I was involved with the original company concept. He than sold it to Storm.
