Code pays for itself....
« on: April 25, 2008, 06:53:26 PM »
Last night of league....figured why not...jumped in all the jackpots just for fun.

If I didn't suck it could have been a huge night.

First game front 9...get soft...8 count spare, strike 278

2nd game I am still trying to forget...I shot a nice 189..missed the King of the Hill cut...it was horrible, but I had to laugh at myself.

3rd game I made a small move Shot 254.

I won totals, best 2, high game of the night, 1st and 3rd high game...and if I could have picked up one more lil itty bitty pin in the 2nd game..King of the Hill as well...such is life.

The Code cost me a total of $45 drilled.  It's a nice piece, that I would not have considered drilling had I not won it in a raffle.  Such a good ball for me.

Thanks

wait till it wakes up, after a few more games it will really show you a thing or two.

Steve,

"wait till it wakes up, after a few more games it will really show you a thing or two."

That's a soaker comment......You want to let us in on a little secret?  I know there was talk of 900G bringing the soaker back a few weeks ago.  Is this a test of the new formulation?

I have about 12-15 games on it now.  I don't want it to wake up...I like it how it is

So much in fact, I have another one sitting in my room for a rainy day.

Nice series.... for a female lefty! lol! I kid I kid! Good shootin. Check the Big B fourm for my funny story.

I have been eying a nighthawk pearl after watching a few vids, such a smooth move from a pearl. The code might be a little more ball than i'm lookin for right now. Unless of course I win one.

The sweeper misses you and I need a drinking partner. think about it.

Yea I suck and I know it.  I wish I could parlay my form into something special, its just not happening for me.  I remember my first year of adults when I saw a mark, and hit a mark...best I have ever bowled.  This year I averaged the highest I ever have because I exploited the weak patterns that Airway calls a house shot.

All I know is when someone like me can average nearly 230 for a full season, throwing the ball as badly as I did...it's just not right.

Aim at 10, hit 2, strike.  Aim at 2, hit 15, strike....Aim at 10, hit 25, strike ahaha..okay well it wasn't that bad, but pretty close.  What's fun about that?

The sweepers were fun, I might make another random appearence here soon, but I doubt it.  I have to bowl the champ of champs on the 18th (not looking forward to it), and I declined all my invitations to the award score shootout haha.  I guess for me when I feel it's time to hang em up, it's time to hang em up.

Yea Joz, sadly any semi decent numbers I put up this year came from Airway.  All year any ball I used reacted pretty much the same.  The line always had to be the same, the only change I had to make was speed and do I tuck or untuck my pinky.  Which by the way I learned to be an awesome tool.  I'm learning new things every other week lol.

The last few weeks the lanes were hooking a lot more, so I decided I would bring the Code for the last week, to see what would happen.  It gave me the length I needed, while also going real smooth on the back...perfect reaction for my weak game.  I was playing from 16 with my feet, to about 9, and donking the outside around 3 at the arrows.  The sad thing was, I could miss left, and I could miss right.  Missing left was a better option.

I was using it on Mondays pretty much since I got it, and I liked the reaction there, but the shot was always quick to break down at Van Dyke, and I could never chase the line fast enough.  I think it came from not paying attention to my surroundings, lack of knowledge, and lack of skill.

I'm glad I spent two years in the Major Leagues at Bowl One Fridays, because it made me realize if I ever wanted to become a player I would have to work on it...a lot.  Sadly the drive for me isn't there anymore.  I honestly could hang them up, sell all my equipment and be fine with it.

I even joined the Michigan Majors this year because it was something I had always wanted to do.  Then I get there, and it's a carry fest.  I bowled the first three, and you can't afford to have a bad game, unless you can shoot back to back 270's just to get back in the chase.  I averaged 208 over the first three and besides for winning one jackpot, didn't even come close to cashing.  In fact if you totaled my three tournaments together, I wouldn't have made the cut in any one tournament.  Once again, what's fun about that?  You have the best players from around Michigan, a lot of guys that just turn the cover off the ball, with tons of speed, you give them 10 boards of area, what is gonna happen there?  I really enjoyed challenging myself to find the right line to join in on the carry fest, but by the time I would find it, I was well done.

Oh well such is life.

Dude don't be so hard on yourself because your left handed. Cuz you don't suck that bad, I have seen worse bowlers average high. lol!

If its that bad, get out of airway. The only reason I bowl at century is because its semi-hard for me. Sounds funny right? During league the backends kill me, practice I wack em, nothing under 215, I miss spares all day too. Turn the lights on its a crap shoot. I told my friend I now have the mindset I can shoot a 700 a night, I just need to make spares and good counts. Not so much because it is that "easy" but I am that confident in the way I throw the ball.

I refuse to bowl at another center because it is progressively easier to hit the hole. I mean come on I averaged 215 at airway with a rising, and I average 180ish there now with pearl equip and no spare shooting. It is your worst THS enviorment, throw your most hooking solid and wack em. No over under, just chase the oil and play smart.

Tis life, I try to have fun and win a little bit of money and meet cool people. Other than that I could save lots of money. lol!

Make an apperance, starts at 10. We'll drink beers and kick it.
