Night Hawk & Newer Orbit Xtreme Covers
« on: October 20, 2007, 02:17:19 AM »
Are the Night Hawk's and newer Orbit Xtreme being made by 900Global still SuperFlex and if not what are they now?

How does the One7Plus Reactive in a Hei$t differ from SuperFlex?

Nighthawk (black) remake is SuperFlex.

Orbit Extremes are SuperFlex.

Nighthawk Pearl is, I believe, the old coverstock plus additives/modifications for use in today's oils. I might be wrong, though...I'm maybe 80% sure on this one.

The One7Plus cover on the Hei$t is the reactive solid version of the cover used on the Radar Alert. The Radar Alert featured One7Plus with particle...the Hei$t has none. It is a more aggressive coverstock than SuperFlex, with what seems to be a good deal of oil absorption capability(IMHO).

Hope this helps.

Thanks revTrex.  Is this the same type of capability as the oil absorption covers as Ebo has put out or what are you saying in above line?

I've always loved SuperFlex and hope that the newer covers that 900Global uses to manufacturer these balls has the same kind of quality and longevity.

Scott,

If it's of any worth,
The One7Plus cover was in use in AMF balls before the Columbia move to Ebonite. Plus long before this event, during the hubbub about the absorptive qualities of the Ebonite One series of balls, I distinctly recall a Columbia rep posting here on ballreviews.com that Columbia's newer reactive resin coverstocks (post Super-Flex) were all at least absorptive as the One series' coverstocks, and in many cases, more so. Columbia just chose not to make a big deal of it.

For my money, I think they recognized that many people might think that more absorptive covers were not always a good thing.

Yes, I did realize that Jeff.....just wondered that if 900Global had changed the formulation or came up with another coverstock.

Agree there completely.

all the references I see to the One Plus 7 technology refer to Triumph balls and referse to particle.

Here is one reference to a

Triumph

There were also the Triumph AMP and Triumph TNT.

Each is also listed as one plus 7.

My remeberence of the triumph is it was a very smooth ball that was real nice on fresh and not so strong on carrydown.  The TNT on the other hand!!

I wonder if One plus 7 refers to a 1.7 % particle load??

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I've seen stronger coverstocks but a very smooth ball the Triumph in moderating overreaction.  Not many stronger than the TNT above...

I believe what revTrex said is correct.  He's pretty well hooked into AMF/900Global.

I'm not....I just read the description of the 3 triumph balls as an outsider.

If he's connected...I'd believe him
