Yes, quite different. Pretty much the same thing I had to do with the Hei$t when I first got it...must be something about that OOB polish that is just too shiny for my tastes. I didn't give a real good scuff, just a light one.

I wonder if some of the Heists have more polish or different polish OOB than others because I am using mine OOB on medium oil on Brunswick Pro Anvil Synthetic Lanes and I couldn't improve the performance of this ball as it is PERFECT for me in the OOB condition.

My Hei$t has more phasing and what I call a porouscity hole in it that I'd call it a total blem.

I can't emphasize how light a scuff I mean when I say "light scuff." Think of it as "tracking up the ball" -- I basically skipped the "break in" period by just taking off a bit of the polish. It's still got a sheen to it, but not quite what it was OOB.

The Hei$t I have is also a color/phasing blem, BTW. Not the prettiest ball in the world, but hey, it works! It was one of the first made -- and the first period to score a 300 .

Do you think this ball would have success on a burnt heads type situation with a longer pin to pap distance?  I need something that will get down lane and play deep angles but push through the burn without hitting like a pillow.

How burnt are we talking about? The cover is still pretty strong on this ball, so it might pick up too early, even with a weak drilling, if you are talking Sahara desert up front...

Now, if there's a little push...maybe...depending on your rev-rate, ball speed, etc.
