Heist X blem layout?
« on: June 24, 2008, 12:16:44 AM »
I recently picked up a light 16LB Heist that has 4.25oz of top weight and a 2-3" pin distance.

I was interested in a rico layout for it, wondering with such a high top weight, will it be a viable option?

If not, I can work with other pin down options.

What is your span, and thumb size?

From the man himself:

quote:
To me, optimum specs are:

Half the distance of your ring finger

Top weight 2.7-3.2OZ

The longer the pin, the larger necessary hole and less variance. The shorter the pin the less variance with size and depth of hole.
The same goes for the top weight, higher-larger and the lower-less.

I would think you would be alright.  You may have to drill the thumb and/or x-hole a little deeper than normal to get out the extra weight.

I'm far from an expert, so you may want to get some others to chime in.

Span is short, 4 3/8" and to be honest I never recorded my thumb size from the driller, going to see him today, I'll get the drill sheet.  I can tell you though that my thumb and fingers are small as well.

If the thumb and xhole need to be drilled deeper than usual to make it work, as long as it's in the limits that's fine.

To quote a line from one of my favorite adult films and to preface the weight imbalance after drilling, "That hole's huge."

Unless, of course, you drill the thumb & fingers deeper.

Strangely enough, a quote from the same movie.

Any other input on this?
