I thought I remember reading a while back that it was a black urethane ball. I think it used a pancake core.

They also made a green mild reactive pearl one as well. Green or blue or a teal, but it was also a pancake core as well.

The reason I asked is that I saw one in very good condition on a rack in the place where I bowl and got curious if it was a urethane ball..

The colour is sort of darker teal..

I should''ve taken a pic with my phone camera but I forgot to do that..

Another question, would the BobCat be useable on dry lanes/short patterns?

There was a purple one and a teal one.. I threw the teal one and it flared a ton... It was a pancake core in a sense but it was like a Pinbreaker core in that it was oversize and jutted down somewhat..  Great ball.. The match where Ballard threw it in the gutter Weber was using a Bobcat.

Is this the Pinbreaker you mention?

The dark purple one ins a solid urethane and the teal one is a pearl urethane.  Both have the pancake weight block.

I had the dark blue Pin Breaker and it rolled really good! Cool youtube ad, thanks for throwing that in!

I think Jess Stayrook is throwing a Bobcat, from 1990:

I believe Jess is using BOTH Bobcats. The solid for strikes and the pearl for spares.
