Code deals on closeout
« on: August 22, 2008, 10:42:51 AM »
I just noticed this on closeout, for anyone who wanted to try a great new ball for upcoming league season. Just trying to help a few of you out and hope this becomes more common on here when someone notices a great deal.

Very good ball reads the mids well and has pretty good backend, just got the Nkryption code and let me tell you the backend is outrageous on it. So will post more on how I got the Nkryption and what my thoughts on that ball are after more use.

Barry,

Thanks for the information regarding the Code on closeout.  How is your Nkryption Code drilled, and how is your Code drilled?  I have the Code and it is one of my favorites.  I will be getting the Nkryption Code, just waiting for it to arrive at the proshop.  Any comparison you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure where the word close out is listed on the site. That seem to be the regular price.
Did anyone actually go to the site , or are we just responding to the original post.

Bombsaway, Just because some company orders a crap load and a year or so later they want to get rid of the ball, so they discount it some does not mean the company that makes the ball does this practice.

It is still in our line and will be for quite some time. If an internet site wants to run a sale that is their right.

The comment regarding how many we build and it not being closed out was under the 900 Global thread and was in reference to the Creature line. As you all already know this brand is not available on line thus we can control the inventory and pricing.

So the response of  " thought i read on another thread where they said they would not close out balls because they only made enough to handle orders?"
Does not apply to AMF which is available through a wide varity of distributors and sold on the internet.

I can't see this link, I must not open it, I have to control my urge to buy another Code.

Damn I really liked this ball, if I make room on my rack I guess this purchase will be justified.

Well closeout on one site or not, 91.99 shipped is a killer deal grab one today for that price.

The Nkryption Code is drilled the same way pin to pap at 4 1/2 but the cg on the Nkryption is shifted right at about 3 1/2. It does have a marked MB which is right of my thumb about 1 inch not sure of exact distance probably 4 1/2 area.

The ball is amazing to say the least it revs up super hard in the mids and has a very continuous ball motion that is smooth still. It is almost exactly like the Uprising but stronger on medium oil, it needs at least medium oil even being on the shiny side.

The resin base has to be in the same league with something like Masterpiece from Legends, which was ball if I slightly dulled would about outhook anything I had at the time.

So far the ball seems to be one of the best new pieces I have picked up in recent memory, it kicked the 10 pin out about every shot.

Stronger than the Code in oil strength and backend, I would say 4-5 boards total would be a good estimate. It outhooks a Playmaker by about 6-7 boards with a very close drill pattern, handles more oil and just plain is good.

Maybe Jeff, I still have too much equipment in the room. Would be nice to organize my racks according to which league I'm bowling.

If the Heist's reaction is like the Code I had then I won't need to buy one. (Code that is) ha!

I have both the Heist and the Code.  Their reactions are different enought to justify having both.  For me, the Code is more angular off the spot and the Heist is a bit more rolly.  They make a great 1-2 combo.

My original Code wasn't angular off the spot by any means.  It was quite early rolling, strong in the midlanes, and even down the whole lane.

However the cover looked scuffed down and needed a slight lane shine to react best.

To compliment the Heist I'll keep it in OOB condition.

APK,

I have my Code at 600 grit and Valentino's Snake Oil, 5-1/4 x 4 layout.  I have the Heist at 5 x 4 at 1000 Abralon.  I didn't like the Heist with polish, but it reacts great at 1000 Abralon.  With similar layouts and different surfaces, they work great together.  If you have both, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Thanks for the tip, sounds like a good direction to head in.  I was thinking about scuffing the polish off my Heist anyways.

I'll let you know how I fare when I get my new Code.

For me the Heist is best at 1k abralon also so around 600 grit I guess.

Code for me is much more angular not even close to the Heist reaction, but let me tell you the Nkryption is almost too much backend reaction. Super good ball going to bowl sweepers with it tonight, already know that it works so well that I trust it that much.

Would you say the Code is more for medium and the Nkryption is more for med to heavy oil?
