I have to agree with Steve that the pearl will give more angle, not a skid snap. Really try not to put an aggressive layout on these pieces because they burn up A LOT in the front and hit weak in the pocket. Like with all High RG/Low Diff balls - especially given the layout you're trying to go with - they tend have a smoother transition from front to back unlike the Low RG/High Diff balls so try not to use a layout as such. If you're wanting the reaction closest to what you want try this:
(6 by 5) or (6 by 5 1/2) must have a long pin - 4-5" pin
The pin should be above the fingers and the cg should be really close to the thumb. With the pin up it will give you length and with the cg close to the thumb you should have some thumb weight. Here's the thing, when drilling the thumb deeper to meet required standards you should hit the weight block. When drilling into the weight block, you actually create a higher diff.
