Dont Believe the HYPE Urethane---My take
« on: February 15, 2010, 11:22:12 PM »
just kidding, you need to believe!  Wow, is all I can say about this ball.  I
can actually play my power game right up 10 board.  No more fluffing.  I can
grip this ball and rip it, having a nice heavy roll.

At first I was going to drill it 55°x2.5"x35°, but after talking to tekneek and
charlest, I was hesitant, and went with a 50°x5"x40°.  I didnt want a long and
flip reaction so I was hesitant with this drill.  What I did get was a nice
heavy roll to the pocket.  It started in the midlane and kept the heavy roll
to the pocket.  At times I thought it was just going to keep hooking, but it
stayed its course and smacked the 10 little basstards silly.  If I missed it on
the bottom, it would let me know by not having enough to make it to the hole.
Which is what I wanted, a ball that I can actually get a mitt full and not worry
about an over-reaction on the backend.  An idea of what I bowl on is, Brunswick
Anvilanes, 39ft pattern.  Plays slick, with crisp backends.

First set out of the box, first game I go front 8, stone 9, than punch out for
279.  Second game I go front 7, than finish with a 259.  3rd game I go 230..768!

Second set, first game I go front 7 again and finish with a 266.  Second game
I go 229, and third game go 212...707!

3rd set, I started thinking that there''s no way I can get this much carry all
the time with this ball....and I was right.  Ten 10pins, six 4pins, four 9pins,
and three 8 pins....I go 578 for the set.  It just wasnt my night to carry I
guess, and hopefully tonight and wednesday night is more of the first 2 sets.
The leaves were ripped leaves, and not soft taps, so hopefully it was just the
pair we were on and not the ball.  Tonight will be the true test, the house I
bowl at only puts out a 30ft pattern with 3ft buff.  Gutter to 12 is bone dry.

Overall I''m satisfied with the ball, after the 30 or so games I have on the ball
not too much carry issues, except for that last set.  I was skeptical of the
urethanes because I didnt think it would be able carry the corners.  But for
someone who is rev dominate, this ball is pure money.

Human nature being what it is, and your having had such good results the first 2 outings, I'd bet you just relaxed a little too much with your target focusing and figured, subconsciously, it would carry the world, like it had.
(Can't beliee I'm saying this but) try not to have so much confidence in it. Be precise without being anal.

I took mine out about 2 weeks ago in a practice session and the darned thing kicked out some 4 pins like it was a new resin power ball. I was shocked.
