Title: drilling layout on 14lb
Post by: papachicken on January 28, 2004, 06:38:20 AM
Help- can anyone give me some advise on drilling layout for 14lb ball? I am currently bowling on synthetic lanes (amf, UGH!), my average has dropped from 216 to 206 in the last 6 weeks. No carry! 25 to 30% pocket strike carry, 55 to 60% 9 counts. Lanes are top hat shot with buff to 28-30 feet, shimmed from 4 to the gutter, no oil. I have ball speed of 16.5 to 17mph and above average rev,s 43/4 up1/2 pap. had to go to 14lb due to tendonitis in right elbow. i am leaving lots of 7 pins, and lots of 4's, and 9's. any help would be greatly appreciated! I am getting serious over/under reactions all the time!

I have been throwing brunswick products, inferno, blazing, and time zone all with no carry!

Are you right or left handed?  What you leave and how you leave it really determines what you should do.

Are the Brunswick balls you mentioned 14# or are you getting ready to buy a 14# ball?

If you're getting over/under, consider either getting something redrilled with the CG kicked out towards your PAP and/or adding a little surface to your benchmark ball and stay inside the oil line.  Don't try to swing it out to the dry.
