Heat stroke

Strong and smooth down lane ball motion, but with good pin action.  Great ball for tougher lane conditions or smoothing out wet dry house shots.  Straighter players  or low tilt players should use flip and length type layouts or the ball might be a little to smooth down lane.  High rev and tilt players can use any layout.

I've been a big fan of balls with diffs of .3X for a long time.  They usually take out a lot of the midlane as often their rg is in the 2.56 or 2.58 range.

A few examples of these balls are my beloved and departed Icon 2 from Columbia, The Track Heat series balls(with a core that looks a lot like the core on the Heat Stroke).  The Noize series from Columbia, and the Twisted Fury's from Brunswick.  Oh another one I love is the Storm Hot Wire(it's nephew out now the Roto Grip Rumble).

This ball with a core like the Track Heat series however has a much lower rg(meaning different densities than the Storm version of the core) and the ball in videos looks like it has a good amount of midlane and then a lot of smooth predictable rounded power at the back.

I just wonder about the push on lighter conditions due to the low rg of 2.49??  Anyone have an opinion?

Looks like a great ball, and a great 1 , 2 combination with the Solar Flare on a lot of mediums.

The newest entry from AMF is the Heat Stroke it is a must for everyone’s bag! This ball has great eye appeal and it rolls as good as it looks. The ball is easy to read and hits extremely hard. One of its great strength’s is that you can play the track area without any overreaction. The symmetric core gives you a continuous roll into the pocket with great results. This ball is great for medium to lighter conditions and it fits everything from slow to high speed players and strokers to high rotation players. Great compliment to the AMF line

Heat Stroke is money!! Finally got my equipment and knowing I was going to be bowling a tournament on a broken down shot, I drilled this one first. I went 80*x5"x42*, exact layout as my Hook Pearl. Where the Hook Pearl offers length and pop on the backend, the Heat Stroke has similar length with a very smooth, predictable, and controlled backend motion. It clears the heads with ease, but doesn't jump hard on the backend. Depending on the volume of oil, this ball could easily be a benchmark ball. Quite honestly, I am surprised that it is a pearl. Reaction is very similar to the Cobra SE. Furthermore, how the ball goes through the pin deck and carries is phenomenal for a ball at this price point. AMF has hit a homerun with the Heat Stroke; don't be afraid to pick this one up.
