Hi guys! I'm pretty new to the AMF stuffs...The only I have is the Clutch, which I have purchased as per suggeestion of Eric Thomas. I really loved that ball, have rolled 2 300's in the past 3 weeks. My question for you guys, is what do you think about the Hype Urethane? I'm looking into getting a urethane ball. Although this is AMF forum, was wondering about your thoughts about this ball, as compared to other Urethane balls( Seismic Desperado, Storm Natural?) in the market right now? Thanks!

I believe it is the strongest right now, over the natural, ogre etc. I have the natural and , although smooth, it can cover a good area.

it is several boards stronger than the Natural, most don't believe it but it is as strong as most mid level performance ball at box finish with a huge amount of flare, as in 4-6 inches

Does this defeat the purpose of the ball, or does it still keep working well when everyone else is struggling from keeping reactive from jerking left.

I own the Hype, the Desperado, and the Natural. The Hype will handle the most oil. It has the most aggressive coverstock(VERY difficult to shine!) and the strongest core. It will flare the most of the three. It is NOT the choice for dry to mediums. The Desperado is a tick behind the Hype in raw power, but will get through the heads better and being asymmetrical, has more layout possibilities. It is my favorite of the three and the one I would own if I could only have one. The Natural is the smoothest of the three, and the most responsive to surface adjustments. With the right surface, it makes a pretty good drier condition ball. It CAN also handle quite a bit of conditioner with more surface. It does flare the least of the three. They are all GREAT balls and I believe everyone should own at least one. In answer to MrPerfect, The Hype is still urethane, and therefore does not have that reactive "jerk" or backend. All three are great if you face over/under at times.

This if factual
I have the Hype Urethane and Natural as well. Sorta freaked me out how early the HU is! Hype reads the lane a lot earlier than the Natural or IMO, any urethane that''s out. It''s definitely not a dry - light medium lane condition ball!!!!

I have both the Hype and the Desperado. As stated above the Hype is hard to polish but not impossible. For me the Hype is the strongest of the urethanes by far( even when polished)Mine si drilled pin up. It is my "goto" ball t he wood center i bowl in when bowling on the house shot. It allows me to play much straighter and without the big jerk left of resin.. For me the Desperado is 4-5 boards weaker overall but even with a weaker drilling 5.5x60x60 it is much stronger/angular off the spot than the Hype. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either of these balls
