Mega Friction Maintenance

Just a few questions about the Mega Friction. As any oiler you want to clean it after every set you bowl. My cleaning procedures are as follows:

Wipe off ball after every shot to remove excess oil (And you better have some oil if you plan to use this thing, the warning label is spot on!).

Before the end of the night, I put the ball on my ball spinner where it is cleaned with simply green throughly, then hit with a 1000 abralon pad to return the ball to box surface. Would this be too much for the ball on a day in and day out basis?

probaly
just spray it down with a cleaner after bowling
and take it to 1000 after 20-30 games

understood... well how can I keep it from shining up and in turn loosing reaction without hitting it with the pad frequently?

imo its important to clean the ball after your done, not wait until you get home

the longer the oil sets in the ball the quicker you lose reaction

i clean the ball after each set @ the alley giving the oil less tiem to settle into my ball

i would not sand the ball that often jmo

Use as strong a ball cleaner as is necessary. Often when bowling with a dull ball on oil, oil lines will get on a ball's surface. I don't mean the oil that just lies on top of the ball that you can wipe off without a ball cleaner. I mean the type that's been pressed into the ball's upper surface.

For that you need a strong cleaner, like Clean and Dull or similar. Usually I recommend C&D only every 3 - 5 sessions, but if you bowl on heavy oil you may need to use it more regularly. Unfortunately it is hard to use C&D properly at a center because it requires a wet towel to help remove residue, as an intermediate step. So while you must clean the ball, as bowlerdawg says, AT THE CENTER, before putting it back in the bag, if those oil lines remain, you should use C&D when you get home. It does not require a spinner.

Use legends ball cleaner right after you bowl this will get rid of all the dirt and grime and keep the coverstock squeaky clean.

I want my share of the bounty but I cant find enough oil for this monster, i dont want to polish it cause it rolls so good now damn I hate dilemmas.

Three reasons why acetone should not be used on ANY ball:

1. Acetone is banned by the USBC. This is prior to competition, or after    
   competition.
2. Acetone is known to attack the coverstocks of many reactive balls. It      
   can kill the reactive characteristics of the coverstock, negating any hook.
3. Acetone is a bomb waiting to go off. Using it on a spinner is like    
   playing with gasoline and matches.

Probably but it woud have added approximately $25 to the internet price.
So far, as far as I know, Phil/900Global has only created one new Soaker coverstock ball, the Break S75. Based on that, I might guess he wants 900 Global to have the premium products, like Soaker.

If this question does not intrude too much on your business practices ...,
I notice the Soaker name was Trademarked on the old DT website pages.
- Does this mean that name, Soaker, was sold to the people who bought the DT name? Is that why you couldn't use it in the webpage describing the S75?
