What is going to happen to AMF??!!
« on: February 07, 2007, 12:35:22 AM »
Now that Ebonite bought Columbia where does that leave AMF??  Does anyone have any info??  I sure hope they don't scrap the ball line!  There stuff is really made a turnaround and i'd hate to see them be gone just like that.  You know this is scary stuff right now:

Brunswick's Mexico stuff/Octane cover seems to be a disappointment compared to USA made Activator covers, Ebonite line just ok - Hammer stuff good for 30 games and you have to buy a new one, Storm ?? who else is left??  Morich, Lane #1??  Legends - all expensive stuff and not always user friendly for the price...where will bowling balls go from here...

Why do all you douchebags claim Hammer and Ebonite's equipment dies after 30 games? What a bunch of tards!

well i have not said it but i do see a lot of higher maintance being required on those thin shelled new ebo/hammer balls, and people that dont care for theirs are complaining of lost reaction after 60-100 games.  just practical experience on my side

Trig,

You're right. Those that done maintain their equipment are doomed to pathetic excuses.

Go with the Diamond covers, alot thicker covers and will last alot longer from general logic and what I have seen.

"Ebonite did not acquire any rights to the AMF300 line.  We will remain a separate company and continue to operate as usual.  More information will be provided in the future.

Fig left the company back in July.  Right now we will continue operations as normal here in San Antonio.  There are more questions than answers but everything will clear up before April 8..... I will try to keep our loyal customers in the loop and once again thanks for your business and your friendship.

It's too bad Ebonite couldn't have bought AMF Bowling Corp too while they're at it.

Agreed!  I don't think they could run the centers any worse than they already are!

The only complaint I've ever had for the Hammer stuff since Ebonite bought them was a desire to develop a crack somewhere....usually around the thumb.  Of the new stuff, I had 4 balls that developed cracks:  Blade, Diesel Particle, Power Diesel and Deal.

I am still a believer in the older coverstocks and willing to bet I won't see any cracks in those even thought I put significantly more games on them.
