New Bull Whip
« on: June 16, 2012, 07:34:39 PM »
Drilled the new Bull Whip for myself but have not gotten to throw it yet.  Just wanted to get a picture up of it.  I will update this with a review once I get my other new AMF/900 Global weapons in.

This ball is awesome!  It is everything it was hyped up to be and more.  I love the length, angularity, hitting power and drive thru the pins.  I drilled mine straight up and down with the pin above the bridge about 5" from my PAP and the CG in the middle of my palm.  AMF hit a home run with this ball.  Thanks 900 Global/AMF.

Hello, I'm in the market to purchase a the new Bull Whip SE or the Green Mamba. Will the Green Mamba create more of a skid/flip reaction than the Bull Whip? I'm looking for the ball that will give me the most energy retention/flip at the backend. I throw the ball fairly slow at 15mph. I realize the Bull Whip uses a symmetrical weight block as oppose to an asymmetrical block used in the Green Mamba. It's my understanding symmetrical balls are more controllable and don't react as hard off the dry as an asymmetrical pearl? So would it be safe to say the Mamba would offer the most backend off the dry? Any help would be appreciated!

A bullwhip SE is going to be flippier than a Green Mamba. The Mamba is going to be for oil and the bullwhip is going to be for dry. The Mamba is going to make you move deeper than the bullwhip SE. Check out 900/AMFs  website and look at the vids they have available. They will do a great job of explaining.

I wouldn't say the Bullwhip is for drier, but it is a pearl so not for the flood for sure. I tossed a few shots with the Green Mamba at the Demo Days and reminded me of the Bank or Bank Roll. It uses the SRC core so like the Bank series is all up to using that core. With the slower ball speed you mention I am going out on a limb and say you should be able to use a longer pin and get a sharper angle when the core turns over. My Bank is drilled pin over the bridge and with light polish I can get the skid flip reaction just have to watch not to over throw the ball. I have the Bullwhip and it is a great piece and does remind me of the original just on steroids. Pure skid flip reaction. My current house condition is too dry for either ball, so neither of these or my now Look get any action. The Look is another major flip reaction you could consider.

Updated review:
I believe I needed to break in the cover to get the reaction I was expecting and very happy with on THS and sport patterns. Used on the Kegel Broadway 37', very predicable, smooth and carry was excellent.

Pic of layout in my signature link. Not quite sure how to get a full pic on the post yet.
