Why is the Angle Evolution TOUR considered...
« on: July 21, 2004, 12:22:44 PM »
...the BEST Heavy Oil ball in the last 5 years (or of all time)? There's 4-5 guys in particular on here that love this ball.

What does this Heavy Oil do that other Heavy Oil balls DON'T do? Does it actually hook in Heavier Oil... actually backend in Heavy Oil... roll up early in Heavy Oil... etc...???

What is it about this ball that's so special compared to other companies Heavy Oil balls?

It's a "particle" coverstock... so does anybody think this ball's cover is more durable or does it die out after 50 games like every other particle ball?

I don't see a true flood often (also why the ball has so few games on it), but I've yet to run into a condition that the AET wouldn't hook on.  It doesn't want to roll immediately off your hand.  I don't match up with real low RG balls.  This particle still clears the heads well when thrown on less oil and saves plenty of punch for the backends.  If pins were 4-5#, this is the ball that would roll through them.  I've loved every ball that has use the same core.  Cover longevity I can't speak for.  Mine has few games + it was treated with Doc's Elixir since it was drilled.

You can see in my profile the other heavy oil balls that I've thrown.  The AET shames them all.  The Animal would be the only thing in the same ballpark.  The AET has more surface, but is drilled weaker.  It's been a long time since I've thrown them side by side, but I'd be willing to bet the AET is 5+ boards stronger.

i think the difference is that this ball really creates angularity on a heavy oil condition, while not snapping off the dry. it never seemed to roll too early, and the coverstock lasts forever. unlike other particle balls, it also doesnt seem to tear up the lanes and make carrydown a nightmare after a few games. this is just my experience with the ball, and i've tried many heavy oil balls (phenom, freak, icon 300, super carbide bomb) but none of them hit as hard or were able to be kept in play as long as this one.

I recently bowled with one of Fred Borden's New Legends bowling balls called The New Standard.  It was a great ball.  The reason I am posting this message here is that Borden says his new balls do not soak up oil.  They are as good this year as they will be in ten years.  Their new highest quality resins do not have fillers to reduce cost of the ball and therefore do not lose their hooking or hitting power.  He showed me several balls with 3000 games and more with no oil penetration and they almost looked new.

Bordens New Standard bowling ball will get allot of rave reviews.  It just came out.  I threw a 300 game the first time I threw it in competition.  The control is amazing and it finishes with incredible pin action.  All I had to do was get the ball in the area of the pocket and it did the rest.  Try one and see what you think. I think Coach Borden is really on to something.  I get excited just thinking about bowling with the ball.

It is amazing how some people never really gain knowledge of our sport.  They will never be winners or champions because they think they know every thing. If you know everything then you no longer have a willingness to learn and improve your game.

Inverted, don't worry, I just read each post out of context of the others unless they write a name so......

You seem to have a thing for Hammerbowler, don't you racer?  I think it's time to come out of the closet and share your secret with the world..........

I understood what he said, oh wait, I actually have a control of the english language, unlike you!  Flood outside, but still lots of oil inside.  Yes, racer, that is possible.

BTW, average has nothing to do with reading oil patterns unless you bowl PBA patterns, or a sport shot, if you even know what that is.

I still am using the Angele Evolution Tour Extra
and believe me, this maybe an older ball but it creates
angles that other particle balls that I have owned do not.
It carries well and handles all the wets great.
