I am not one to tout a ball that is the greatest thing since flush toilets very often. I am also not an AMF/900G staffer so these opinions are based on a general sense from a average house hack that has some decent ability but by no means some high ave. uber hand player. My stats. are in profile.
I have had an AMF Bullwhip SE now about two weeks and shot nothing under 225 with it. I use it NOT as a fresh ball there are other pieces better than the Bullwhip for that IMO. I took a chance after reading BTM's review and have been looking for a ball for light-medium moving in with the ability to hold pocket but also carry the back row better. Generally many pieces like this will either over react for me and hard to control or just don't carry. So, I took a chance on a Bullwhip.
I bowl on a THS that is what I term light-medium to light on fresh like many of us. 39' 19ml on 17 year old worn synthetic 1st Gen. Bruns Anvilane. 5 man leagues blow up what little is put outside and the track area already is heavily worn lane topography. For whatever reason this houses left-odd lanes always blow up in the heads earlier and carry down more than the even lanes especially in 5 man.
I had my driller layout 70*x5.25"x42* no x hole. I tried it a few games OOB but it went a bit long and left ringing 10's. I took a new P4000 pad and spun 2 sides 15 secs with light pressure. This was the ticket. Beautiful lengthy trajectory and rolled hard into 1-3 without the over reaction you sometimes see. Held pocket great and has enough strength to knock out back row very well.
I believe the Bullwhip is the best surprise for me in this years equipment and was well worth the investment as I have blown losts of bucks over the years trying different equipment which have not worked out well for this kind of condition. For me it is a great light-medium to light ball for inside use. I would use it on transition and on the burn. Your mileage will vary unless laid out correctly for your stats. and lane condition + lane topography. I would definitely look at this ball for these kind of lighter conditions for many.
