Radar surface adjustments?

has anyone tried some surface on their radar? im thinking of knocking the polish off of it cause on my THS that i see it can get a little over/under for me

im thinking about taking it to say 2000 abralon to see what that does

anyone?

I haven't.  I like it the way it is as it is my benchmark ball 60 deg. layout pin under ring.  No over reaction and nice even roll.....shows me what I want to know.  

You have enough heavier hooking equipment like the Lock and others why would you?  Just as an experiment go for it....you can always put it back to OOB.

Not sure if the Lock would handle that much more oil. I've begun to feel, from other people's posts and reviews that the Lock just hooks more, giving a different look, but it doesn't handle all that much more oil than the Radar.

i am kind of just looking to experiment...just to see what would happen really...the lock can handle a bit more oil than the radar when both OOB but its not DRASTIC

when i get on the right shot the radar is pure gold! but lately on the ths it has been over under (mostly because the shot has become very over/under)

just looking to see if anyone has done so...thanks for the input!

  I will tell you this, that The Radar performs in my opinion even better with the shine off the ball.  2000 abralon would be a perfect choice.  Keep it clean with Clean and dull every now and then, and keep the 2000 finish on it. If the ball begins to burn early go with the NightHawk, Venom, or Titan.  I think you get my point. Read my reviews on these balls to get a better idea. I take the factory shine off all my equipment and bring it back up to my liking.  Hope this helps.

The problem is once you have the Radar at 2000 grit, it will not only handle more oil, as well as reduce over/under, it will REQUIRE more oil to perform the same way as previously. Then, if you encounter the condition you did before you encountered the over/under, you no longer have the ball you once had. You'll need to modify your release and/or ball speed or use another ball.


Maybe you needed a 2nd Radar, drilled and surfaced differently to start with?
A complemmentary ball.

Bar's Radar is set up with a layout IMO that will create more over/under if used of wet/dry THS.  Mine won't because of it's layout <pin under ring 60 deg. layout> and my famous drag release which kills it just enough to roll/set at pocket.  I have been looking for a ball that this kind of release would work well with.....the Radar seems to be it.

this is very true charlest...it will not be the same ball in oil handling capabilities...i think what i need to do is take the surface down and see how i like it at that surface to see if it warrants getting another radar and doing something different with it surface/drill wise...if it does ill take the original back to factory...or if i really like it with the polish knocked off ill get another, drill it differently and keep it oob
