Hey everyone,

My brother-in-law has been using an old Night Hawk Torque for quite a while, and now he's looking to move to something more aggressive. As we all know, in today's ball a month market, it won't be too hard to find something more aggressive. My question, though, is how aggressive was the Torque? Can someone compare it to something that's out today? My brother-in-law throws very hard and with low to medium revs, so I'm not exactly sure how much the Torque is supposed to react. He wants me to suggest a ball for him, but I'm having a hard time doing so without knowing just how strong his ball is supposed to be. I don't care what you compare it to, as he is willing to go with any company. I'm just looking to get an idea of how strong the Torque would be in the hands of a guy with average speed and hand. Any help will be appreciated.

The Torque was a fairly aggressive ball in its time (not that long ago), designed for medium-heavy oil. If it were new, it would still be able to handle medium-heavy oil in the hands of a medium rev bowler. Right now, I'd guess his ball would have absorbed far too much oil and the particles have probably been worn down quite a bit (softer Columbia TEC particle, I believe).

A decent replacement might be in the order of balls like:
Ebonite Jungle Green
B'wick Raging Inferno
Storm Deuce

and similar balls.

I have the Nighthawk Torque PEARL, and it is effective on today's conditions - it performs more like a midrange ball and less like a high end today.
I'm familiar with the non-pearl version as well.

The Raging Inferno will be relatively as aggressive as the torque was when he got it.
The Raging is a LOT of ball - but well worth it.

The Nighthawk Torque was a super oiler only a notch behind the incredible and still best and heaviest oiler the AMF Evo Tour.

The Reaction Roll from Columbia and Throttle are right up there too!
