Inital Code impressions
« on: March 29, 2008, 09:34:53 AM »
Drilled up my Code today.  Layout is pin 4-7/8" from PAP, over the ring finger, 4-1/8" above the midline and the CG 3-1/4" from PAP, no weight hole, OOB finish.  Stats are in profile.  Ball is very clean through the heads and has a defined turn off the friction.  Not uncontrollable, but very strong.  Ball seems to get into a very heavy roll, much like my Radar Lock.  Lanes were pretty dry, so I was playing 20 at the arrows out to 7-8 at the breakpoint.  Ball came roaring back.  Pin carry was very good and the ball had no problem kicking out the 10 when covering this many boards.

I think AMF has a winner here.  I'm impressed with what I have seen so far, and will update when I have a chance to throw on a fresh shot.  Must say the ball has a lot of eye appeal as well.  Nice work AMF!

Definitely a winner with the code.... May not be the biggest hooking ball, but seems to hook in the "right" place.  Mines 4X4 w/ 2.5" buffer and small weight hole.  Good length, super controllable, but still has that "miss room" to be able to recover from the outside.  Shot 812 this morning with mine (no-tap,)but the last two games were "natural" 278 and 300!  I have the confidence with this ball that I can pull it out on just about any shot and still find something... Even threw it last week on the shark in our pba expereice league.. with a nice tight line to the pocket, I had a decent look.  THis ball really does it all!  Thanks Teenek for setting me up with this ball.

Had a chance to throw the Code on a fresh THS yesterday.  40 ft length, medium oil.  Started out throwing 15 at the arrows out to 7-8.  As I mentioned in my original post, the Code is very clean through the heads, reads the midlane very well, and has a strong move on the backend.  After a couple of games, had to move inside to 20 and kept about the same breakpoint.  The Code had no problems recovering from inside angles.

So far, I'm impressed with the Code.  Ball has a strong, but very controllable reaction.  I'll try it again tonight in league on a fresh shot, and may give it a try in my 2nd shift league as well, which follows a mixed league with lots of plastic being thrown.  We'll see how the Code performs with drying heads and carrydown.
