I emailed Eric awhile back about the Radar Alert, which was the particle pearl version of this cover. He said a quick guess would be in the S75 area.

not sure of the cover numbers, but the ball is very strong and angular for me.  Mine is drilled with a 2" pin to pap, and I can really open up the lanes with it when they break down.

Heist Solid and Pearl were F65 and for me the Pearl is a monster even at 4000! Would expect the Big Heist to be at least F65 and as strong. Let us know how you like it!

thankss for your replies.. tekneek emailed me and said it is more like a S70.. I recently hurt my right elbow and bicep at work.. the doc says it is going to be a slow long road to recovery.. I purchased a 14#er and drilled it up for my left hand.. bought a pair of shoes too.. been practicing and I like the big heist it has a very strong arc when it makes its move(drilled pin up).. I can not give you anymore info then that do to the fact we did not know my PAP for my left hand yet being it is my 1st ball.. it is just a little too strong for teaching myself the fundamentals though.. wanted to know exactly what the cover was so I can buy another ball from AMF but with a weaker cover to put more of a control drilling on it so I can go alitlle straighter to start off..  thankss again slashrr69

It's not AMF but you may want to look at the Global Hook. It uses a modified AMF Code core and an S43 cover. I have all 3 and they roll Sweet. They're also at a price point that's hard to beat

I know it's been a while, but I got a Big Heist from tekneek a while back, and after knocking the factory finish off, and repolishing it, ball is clean thru the fronts, with some major kick on the back. It's a boomerrang ball, if you will. Not good on the heavy, but opens the lane up on the ths.

While I'm not sure, isn't there a chance that the Big Heist's coverstock has particles in it?

My pro shop has one on the shelf and while it does have a shine, a polished finish (at least this one does), when I felt the surface of the ball, it had some abrasive texture to it. Almost as if some particles were laying on the surface.

I have two Big heists and they both are major big backend type reactions on medium conditions, and THS

conditions. Based on what I see out of my ball reactions, these probably do not have particle in them, maybe

mica (from the ones I have). I was pleasently suprised when I purchased these from Tekneek, they are really good pieces, and the price was right. I would recommend these to anyone looking for clean through the front, and big through the back, at least 5 -6 inches of track flare !

Mica is a "particle" when the chunks are large enough. Storm has done that in the past.
It is also how most manufacturers create a pearlized ball, but with very tiny pieces of mica.
