Ball is very smooth and consistent.  Doesn't cover a whole lot of boards - at least for me, but I had mine drilled for a smooth arc - but, the hit and pin action is great.

OOB is good for light conditions.  Super-Flex is supposed to be very versatile, so you may be able to alter the cover to handle more oil.
