Radar Lock First Impressions.

Freaking Nasty.

I drilled this ball with a pin 4" to my PAP, 3" above the midline and the C.G. kicked 1 inch from grip center.  The static weights were left at 1 1/8oz positive and 1/4thumb positive.  I threw it today on a modified house condition after a scratch tournament, mainly to see where I wanted to add the extra hole.

I had a Command Zone Arc back in the day that I shot 289 and 298 with with this same drill but the x Hole 2" past my PAP.  There's no way I'm going to be able to put the X-Hole past my PAP cause this baby FLARES.  6 1/2" actually of wide rings which gives a huge footprint on the lane.  I'm around 325-330 in RPMS so that's a bit above average and my ballspeed is on the medium to medium-high side depending on how I'm playing the lanes.  This ball revs a ton off the hand, making me look like I have an extra 50 or 60 rpms.  You can really see the core in this ball do it's work through the path of the ball.  Early revs, a ton of roll in the midlane and a strong(not snappy) drive on the backend.  With carrydown from the 5 or 6 games bowled on the pattern before I got to it by guys using a ton of the big hookers on the market, carrydown was present(as the other balls I threw labored around the corner in it) but the Radar Lock kept coming as if they were freshly stripped.  A few times I got soft on it and left some designer splits that I hardly ever leave(3-4-6-7-10, 3-7-10).  The strength of the Radar lock, even while polished very high is amazing.  I can see this ball being a house shot killer, and since it's so strong, chasing the oil inside isn't a problem.

I am thrilled to have a piece like this in my bag again.  The reviews are right on with this one, it reminds me of the Absolute Inferno on steroids.  Early read, lots of revs in the midlane, strong sweep across the deck.

Niiiice.

Nice mini review DP3....I loved the Command Zone did not play the Arc but much the same ball motion.

Not sure I generally play on enough oil on THS in my area to use the Lock but I am getting a Radar from 230 n up when he gets back from vacation.

I got to try the Radar Lock this past weekend on a lighter volume house shot and on my league shot which is a bit flatter, but screaming dry boards from 5 and out.  On both patterns the Radar Lock flared up very early and gave adequate backend, but not quite enough pop to finish.  After rechecking the layout, it's more of a 3 5/8ths pin to PAP than a 4" like I originally thought.  The ball is flaring out on me early but it's still pretty smooth on the backend.  Even though I have about 8 games total on the ball, I am going to plug the fingers and shift the drill so that the pin ends up over my ring, 5" to PAP.  I'll need the added delay in flare potential for most of the stuff I will see this season.  I'll give you guys an update around Thursday night or Friday.

I've tested and thrown everything from the Black Beauty to the latest on the market. If you don't have a Radar Lock in your bag - and not a sales pitch by any means - you don't know what you are missing. I have one drilled 6 by 4 and the ball has not rolled out on me once. If you own a pro shop and have concerns stocking this ball, drill one up and you will not be dissappointed. If anyone has had great success with the Vapor Zone, The One, or the Absolute Inferno - just like DP3 indicated - it is well worth drilling one.
