Radar Love
« on: July 21, 2006, 08:21:09 AM »
I haven't used AMF for a while (since the Angle Evolution) and I was talking with Eric Thomas, AMF Rep, and decided to give the Radar a try.

I haven't felt this way about a ball in a long time!  This ball revs off my hand like no other ball that I have used recently.  I can play parts of the lane that have normally been off limits to me (5th arrow) due to my rev rate.  I drilled it pin under ring ( 4 1/4 from pap) with a 50 degree angle.  Balance hole in the thumb quadrant.  I left it in oob condition.  I can square up and go down and in or I can move left and play deep.  For me, playing between 4th and 5th arrow meant looking at 10 pins all night.  Not with the Radar!  This ball carries great.  This Tower core really performs well.  I like this ball so much that I have been using it on conditions that it wasn't meant to be used on, trying to make it fit because I don't want to put it down.  I just love the way it rolls down the lane and the carry that I get from it.  I got my Radar Lock today and can't wait to get this drilled up.

I will be comparing the Radar and Radar Lock to some of my current equipment that should be close in performance (H2O, Cobalt, Masterpiece and Satisfaxion) and will post some observations.

The Tower core seems to be a winner.  I am looking forward to the next AMF release using this core!

JS - If you think the Radar is great, then your going to want to bag more than half your arsenal once you drill up the RADAR LOCK. When I signed with AMF - I'll be honest - I had my reservations about this ball because the last ball that I liked from AMF was the Night Hawk. I'm the kind of guy that does not like to drill up a lot of bowling balls, especially more than one of the same, and I will say I'm very impressed! I drilled my THIRD RADAR LOCK negative right before the San Antonio city tournament just past weekend and shot a 785 with (2) opens. If you have any questions about the drilling of the ball, contact me if you can't get a hold of Eric.
