So how's the VP2 for a first ball?
« on: August 15, 2006, 07:51:48 AM »
I am having difficulty here finding the best possible ball for under $80.00. I came across the VP2 which ships for $69.00, which is right in my budget. Anyone with experience with this ball... do you think it fairs well for a total beginner? This would be my only ball for awhile.

Thanks!

yeah it would be a good starting ball...also keep in mind the orbit extreme.

do you throw 16lbs?

if so they go on ebay all the time for 9.99 plus 24 dollars to ship, so around 35 ship is VERY good price for this ball brand new

I have a friend with this ball and he is pretty soft speed!

It works well for him.

For me it is a very good ball but in it's box condition(shiny)it is often a little long if oil is long or medium in volume.  I love it but it is seldom my best ball!

I think your post someone where else asks about a Track Slash.  I think unless your center is very dry or you are very slow the Track Slash is a great all around ball!  Maybe better suited to medium oiled centers I see all around the country and for the upcoming winter leagues(wetter than summer leagues often).

Another great one in this class is the Track Heat Blast...very smooth and strong!

PS all three above are very good balls.
AMF VP2 for lighter and very fresh backends
Slash a lot of oilier mediums.
Heat Blast...maybe better than Slash for today's oils! More expensive.  Both very good!
