AMF to ? or stick with 'em?
« on: October 20, 2010, 08:00:53 PM »
Hello All,

New here, but had a question that I figured would get a good response here, so here I am.

I currently only bowl 1 league, and have only 5 balls:

1 Villain
1 Pear Clutch
1 Smoke
1 Black Scout (urethane)
1 Plastic Storm

I don't have the weight placements off-hand at the moment, but had just have two general question anyways.  These balls work very well for the house I bowl in (wood lanes, typical house shot), but seem to be "under powered" when I hit tournaments from time to time.

I guess the 1st question is somewhat of an opinion, but what other manufacturer would have equipment that would compliment my game like AMF, since AMF seems to be working for the most part?

In general, the equipment I current have seems to be for medium-light, down to dry in both its cover stock and layouts.  What other balls could I get to round out this arsenal?  Stay within AMF, or "see above"?

Oh, and one last, what info, besides drilling pats would help?  I plan to ask my proshop, as I trust those guys, but the more heads the better, right?

Thanks,
Dan

P.S.  I am between 16 to 17 MPH with a good bit of turn on the ball, but can easily alter my speed etc as needed.  My Axis generally stares back at me, almost dead center of the ball, unless I am specifically playing up the boards or adjusting.  Current league average 210.  Favorite ball in the past was a 1/4 1/4 Leveraged Purple Polished Rhino ~ yea, it has been a few years...
