Sideways?
« on: January 29, 2011, 08:47:05 AM »
What are the thoughts of those that have thrown the Sideways?  I am thinking about picking one up soon while they are still available.  How strong is it for a medium to medium-heavy ths.  I would like to be able to move in deeper as the lanes transition and create enough angle to carry consistently.  Any thoughts, good or bad, with this ball and what if any drillings worked to really make the ball live up to its name?

I really wouldn't consider this ball to be "sideways" but it does roll good.  Picks up the midlane well and has a very nice continous motion at the break point.

I have 2 od these. One is pin up 4.5x60x40 the other is pin under bridge 5.5x55x65. The pin up on as to be expected is much more angular than the pin under. Total hook overall as far as total board covered is about the same just different reaction shapes. Both balls are at 2k + Snake Oil. Even with my slower speed i'm able to throw them  on med-med heavy

Mine was totally Sideways when I hit on it!  I was able to move way in when they transitioned.  It was super clean up front and an angry turn to the pocket on the backend.  Mine was drilled 4.5x4, with an x-hole 2" below pap on val.  On the fresh, sometimes the look was wet/dry with it, but as they opened up it became a solid piece.

Mine was drilled pin up, 5 X 4, with no hole. It didn't like too much oil, and was a bit squirty until I put a worn 2000ab pad to it. It became much more predictable, but stayed clean in the fronts.

Good ball to chase the oil line in deep with. Probably could've made it a lot stronger with an appropriate x-hole and more surface.
