Amf Fusion and Doc's elixir
« on: February 26, 2004, 08:07:51 PM »
Got this ball NiB real cheap.  I don't like particles but wanted one to take to nationals.  Put 2 coats of Doc's elixir  on it and had it drilled pin below ring and cg stacked about a 5 X 5 as I am a high tracker.  Went out on the lane
and tried it out.  Lanes are wood with guardian surface,  ball was strong but very arcy and smooth.  What amazed me was how much oil and dirt this ball was taking in.  I see how some have said it dies a quick death.  Cleaned it by hand with Renewit and added another coat of doc's elixir.  This ball is still taking in oil.  After only one game, I cleand it again and and could not believe the dirt that came out.  Okay, used spinner and renewit, ball now has a shine, and added 5th coat of elixir.  Ball is still taking in oil and dirt but not as much.
I think adding any more of docs' elixir would be over kill.  I like the reaction and control this ball gives me and think it will be perfect to play a tight 4th arrow swing at reno.  So I guess I will save it until April when I go to Reno, to avoid killing it.  Any opinions on this ball and particle death?
