New Angles, anyone punched up yet?
« on: April 22, 2008, 06:05:19 AM »
I am in the market for a urethane ball and was curious if anyone had punched up one of the new Angles. I know they have a couple of pearl versions..

Just so you know, the new Angles are not urethane balls, they are low end resin. As for drilling them, we punched one out for an old lady who bought it through one of those AMF House deals. Its a basic ball similar to a Tornado.

Thats what I was thinking..

Actually, the Black Angle is urethane.  The pearl versions are a reactive cover.

Black Angle is urethane, basically a straight remake of the old one from the early 80s...

Jim I have one very rarely get to use it, found one with a 1.5-2" pin, drilled it pin 1" above midline, 1" right of center line, nice strong arc with good length, drilled the reactive blend cover not the urethane black ball. Hits hard for a "weak ball" or very dry lane ball. Give you much more control than a Groove will.

If possible find a Lane 1 Silver Bullet, perfect for what you are looking for. Ball will not overreact unless plastic will even hook, I had a blue Gyro for years that doubled as a spare ball and fried lane ball. That ball did hit well when the lanes were totally fried otherwise it had hardly any hook.
