SIDEWAYS AND CLUTCH VIDEO

Check it out:

My (very brief and concise) take:

The Sideways is a strong, controllable pearl. Now, that sounds funny ... because any ball that's supposed to go "sideways" shouldn't be controllable. But, let's be honest folks, no ball makes a true 90 degree turn, and the Sideways is no exception. It's angular at times, but I never saw squirt, as it reads the midlane confidently courtesy of the quick-revving core from the Mega Friction.

The Clutch is a lot of hook for your money. Definitely give this ball some room, as the strong cover and asymmetric core allow it to get back from nearly anywhere. If you encounter some early burn, though, just raise the surface or add a dab of polish. 900G/AMF coverstocks, as always, take changes quite well and last long!

Thanks for watching.

I may be a little biased in favor of AMF/900 Global, but the Sideways had about as sharp a turn as I've ever seen a bowling ball make.

I get a stronger midlane read with the Sideways, probably due to the core and what would seem to be a lower gloss polish OOB. So, there might be more visible hook or backend reaction with the Sideways for some bowlers because they will "see more hook" and the ball will cover more boards... but I still think the Break Point Pearl is more "angular" (if that makes any sense... less of a midlane transition = a sharper backend reaction).

Definitely. I purposefully filmed from the back during the transition from the Sideways to Clutch so that people could see how much further left I had to move. The first shot in the video with the Clutch is on approximately the same line as the last shot with the Sideways... and the Clutch rolled earlier and crossed Brooklyn.

the clutch definintely reads the mids a lot sooner than the sideways!
