Wheres the Cobra vid?
« on: June 23, 2012, 09:29:36 AM »
 Hey guys,

Not everyone needs (or wants) an oil eating, 67 board crossing, self righting, green nuclear bomb.

A low flaring ball with a cood cover is going to be a blessing to me. Can y'all PLEASE give us a look at this one?

Eric told me they discontinued the Nighthawks because the multi-piece cores are tough to build whereas the Villain, Clutch, and Double Clutch had one piece cores which were much easier to build AND pour the cover around, especially for a midprice ball.

I would love to see the Nighhawk Revenge remade (one of the few one-piece cores from the NightHawk series, particle pearl cover). Also put in a request for the TiHawk! Don't know if they (Global/AMF) have access to the Titanium nuggets after the Ebonite purchase of Columbia, but would like to see one if they could.

Both? I'm scared to tell the wife how much I am going to drop, between the Freight Train, Look, and the 3 new AMF balls... And maybe a Sure Thing. It all depends on that piece.

Nice.. Birthday coming soon, gonna treat myself to both.

Forget that. I seem to remember having lots of issues with TI balls. Technology has come so far that the Titanium nugget is outdated. Rolled awesome, yes. Would buy another one? No.

Whether its me wanting to believe something that is not there, I just drilled a brand new original Boss Ti a month or 2 ago and the snap when hitting the pins just sounds different than the other stuff I have that is much newer. Same goes for the original Critical Mass I still have as well. When the condition is right and I can get the ball to the pocket, the crack is just different....

Oh well

As great as the original and remake of the nighthawk were, I dont see them remaking them. I would love to see it but not going to happen. Shame, people have no clue what they missed in the remake. Maybe a few of the XS's, and dare i say...... angle evolutions!!! Anyway, aside from drooling at the possibilities, AMF and Columbia are struggling mightily to sell equipment, which is why you see the U2 remake and the 2 AMF remakes. Hope AMF doesnt botch this because this could be the beginning of something wonderful.

The problem with AMF or even 900 Global selling is that the bowling ball market is just way over saturated.  That goes for all makes.  And at least in my area, most people are throwing Storm/Roto Grip so it is hard to convince the casual bowler who may only buy a ball every couple of years to buy 900Global when they have never heard of them.  I try my best to change their minds though.

Is the cover on the Victory as strong as S73?

I had the original Ninja and then the next 2.  I loved my original but it was 16lbs.   I think i may have it still. It wssto one of my original balls i used when shooting national pba events. Back when they had to do the surface mill spot above the fingers/on the center line.
