Is AZO a sleeper?
« on: February 26, 2010, 08:21:39 AM »
Hey,has anybody out there had any sucess with any of the AZO equipment?  I have never seen anyone throwing them around here (metro Detroit) and I was just wondering how their stuff was.  I like the look of the Area, it looks pretty cool and the numbers look pretty strong.  I was also wondering if Storm pours them because I seen AZO's headquarters is also in Utah like Storms.  I would love to be one of the first in my area to throw AZO stuff and hopefully set a trend lol. Thanks

They Kinda are, I had two Pure Tactics, a Pro Tactics, and still have the Ultra Tactics, they were all great. Carried Everything in sight and some stuff that wasnt. Opened tough shots up easily and gave me a comfy area when their was very little.

Only downfall is the price just to high.

Ditto to what Mainzer said. They are a definite sleeper.

I always take mine to tournaments for use on difficult shots or tough conditions. I can score with my AZO equipment when others are struggling with some of the more well-known high end equipment.

They are poured by Storm.

I found a Pure Tactics for cheap a while ago on the internet. I liked the specs so I bought it to give it a try. Have won allot of money gambling with the ball shooting after leagues. The houses I shoot at put out a pretty heavy 40 foot house shot. That and me being left handed plus the layout and cover combo I have on it I usually can’t get this ball out of the bag until the third game. The carry I get is stupid good not much of a bench make ball for me  but in the right environment it is only behind the XFactor Vertigo and Epic Odyssey for the best ball I've ever shot. Probably just a good match for my shot but the ball motion is smooth but well defined of the dry and responds to hand and wrist changes very well. If I get enough dry to shoot this ball I can almost always find a hand position to make the 7 pin go away. Allot of other stuff I have just does not seem to changes its roll enough to make much of a difference.
The Area will be something I will look at when the price comes down some.
My sample size is only one ball but I've gone through whole lines of other balls have found nothing as good as the Pure Tactics.

I've used, with much success, the AZO line going all the way back to when AZO and Lanemasters were basically one in the same.  More recently, I purchased both the Pure Tactics and the Ultra Radical Pro.  Both balls are pretty amazing in their own way.  The Ultra Radical Pro is skid/flip beyond compare but does require someone who throws consistent, accurate and has the ability to quickly recognize changes to the lane.  The motion of the Ultra Radical Pro is eye popping but poorly executed shots can produce unimaginable splits.  In the right hands, the Ultra Radical Pro can be unstoppable - Unfortunately for me, I require a ball with a bit more forgiveness.  Enter the Pure Tactics.  A superior ball that is consistent shot after shot if you "hit" or "miss" it at the bottom of your shot.  It also produces extraordinary carry and is durable, which leads into the price issue.  For me, you get what you pay for.  Far too many balls produced today lose their strength and ultimately die - sometimes in a remarkably short period of time.  From my experience, AZO balls are less prone to chip, get burn marks in the surface and they also maintain their original reaction, as when purchased, for extended periods of time.  In fact, none of my AZO balls have ever diminished in performance and I have some that are much older than ten years.  You can either search for that "magic" ball, experience ball death and buy two or three more or else, you can purchase an AZO or some Lanemasters or Visionary products and use them for years.

I appreciate all the good words about the products . I can guarantee you one thing the products will perform towards your liking. Also, to give you an idea of my thought process when Icome out with balls they are to compliment each other. Area long and very angular and the strike is earlier and archier. When the strike is to early go right to the Area.

Keep your eyes out for new products.

Thanks and keep striking .
