I've used, with much success, the AZO line going all the way back to when AZO and Lanemasters were basically one in the same. More recently, I purchased both the Pure Tactics and the Ultra Radical Pro. Both balls are pretty amazing in their own way. The Ultra Radical Pro is skid/flip beyond compare but does require someone who throws consistent, accurate and has the ability to quickly recognize changes to the lane. The motion of the Ultra Radical Pro is eye popping but poorly executed shots can produce unimaginable splits. In the right hands, the Ultra Radical Pro can be unstoppable - Unfortunately for me, I require a ball with a bit more forgiveness. Enter the Pure Tactics. A superior ball that is consistent shot after shot if you "hit" or "miss" it at the bottom of your shot. It also produces extraordinary carry and is durable, which leads into the price issue. For me, you get what you pay for. Far too many balls produced today lose their strength and ultimately die - sometimes in a remarkably short period of time. From my experience, AZO balls are less prone to chip, get burn marks in the surface and they also maintain their original reaction, as when purchased, for extended periods of time. In fact, none of my AZO balls have ever diminished in performance and I have some that are much older than ten years. You can either search for that "magic" ball, experience ball death and buy two or three more or else, you can purchase an AZO or some Lanemasters or Visionary products and use them for years.
