Genesis #1 vs Motiv #1, and thin KT tape

Long story made short, I need to buy either Genesis #1 or Motiv #1, as thin as possible, to act as really thin KT tape. Can anyone compare the thinness and residue between Genesis #1 and Motiv #1? I just ran out of Motiv, wondering about Genesis.

Also, I wonder if thin KT tape exists? It goes against the definition to a degree for KT tape to be really thin, but if anyone has seen any, would love to know that too.

This is NOT being considered for normal use. It's actually an arthritis aid (more on that later if the experiment works for a number of times...)

FWIW Genesis is making the Motiv tapes, but I don't have first hand experience to tell you equivalents between them.

I have first hand experience with both and in my opinion the Genesis #1 felt thinner than Motiv #1. The Motiv #1 was between the Genesis #1 and #2 in quickness.
I think the Turbo black is thinner than even the Genesis #1, for what it's worth.

Thanks to all for the replies. The Motiv #1 I tried last night (found 1 piece in my bag from an old experiment) seems to stretch thinner than the KT I have, but my KT is admittedly an off brand, not Genesis. The potential of Genesis #1 being thinner is intriguing indeed.... Bottom line, I tried KT on my arthritic knuckles and can't grip well, even with adjusted grip sizes. Using the Motiv though, I was lights out. Need to try it a few more times, but sure seems to be thinner, with better feel. Is it the designed use of the Motiv tape? No... But it was perfect for the cushioning I need. Might order the Gen #1 to see if I can get it thinner and even better.

Have you tried Vise Hada Patch Blue (pre-cut 1" strips)? The Blue is the thinnest tape that I have used.

Yes, thanks for mentioning that. Blue Hada is what I used before switching to Genesis. Good stuff, but the Motiv #1 would work better in this particular case

I haven't used the Motiv tapes, but I do have the red Genesis #1. The stuff is thin -- thinner than Blue Hada. If any tape was thinner than Genesis #1, I think it would be difficult to work with.
 
My go to in the Genesis line in the #3. It has just enough thickness to provide meaningful back of thumb protection. I only use #1 in rare instances where my thumb swells during longer blocks and hole space is key.

Thanks Steven. I carry both #3 and #4 in my bag, and understand what you're saying. In this potentially unorthodox application, I can see the advantage to very thin tape as long as it is workable, and I agree there is such a thing as too thin.
I ordered a pack of #1 Red today. It may seem a little odd since I know Motiv #1 worked, but that was only a 1 time test, and we learn by trying different things. Will report back in a week or so after the experiment concludes.
