« on: December 25, 2009, 03:57:56 AM »
SUCK...SUCK...SUCK  Less than a year after having them they are falling apart.  All the velcro is falling off.  Ontop of that the velcro the velcro its self will not hold the slides anymore.  Crap. I had a pair of Dangroos and the SST6 for a combine 5 years and they were just worn not broken like these.  Im super pissed, is anyone else having problems??

Dynorooz are not PBA allowed because the company name that is stitched onto the shoe is not a registered PBA product member. You have to buy a new pair of 3g shoes identical to what your dynorooz are to use them in the PBA.

To Dale's point, there is nothing inherently wrong with the SST8's. Probably half the bowlers in my league wear them, and I've never heard of anyone having the issues you've described. And that includes several over weight toe draggers who are hard on anything they wear. I probably have at least 150 games on my pair, and they still look brand new.

That's not to say you aren't having legitimate problems, but call Dexter. I recently sent an e-mail question to customer support and received a return mail the next day. The company traditionally stands behind their product.

The SST8 is the current high performance bowling shoe standard in the market. They provide a combined level of comfort, support and versatility unmatched by any other shoe. Call Dexter. They'll work with you.

I've had SST 8's for nearly 18 months as well and mine show very little wear and are in great shape, no velcro issues, no excessive wear issues, absolutely nothing wrong. My buddies that have them have no problems either so I definitely would contact Dexter, have them do their warranty work and get a new pair because I doubt you'll have trouble with a replacement pair in that little time.

I'm telling you that I am a retailer and have sent back several pair of Dexter shoes, and yes they do develop problems, but if you address the problem with Dexter they will either fix the shoe or replace them. They have replaced 2 pairs of shoes for me personally and I am very satisfied with their service. I simply ask for Carol Porter at Dexter customer service and she takes care of the rest.

I have just recently had a pretty big issue with my SST8's...but first, some background on me.

I bowl once a week, maybe 2x a week if i bowl a tournament, i take VERY good care of my shoes & have literally never had any issue with any bowling shoes EVER.

Less than 1 year after buying my SST8's, the right shoe(push sole) ripped completely in half.  Im not talking about the rubber sole, the actual bottom of the shoe ripped in half.  I had them replaced & have a new set of SST8's.

I believe i found the problem....at least the problem for me.  I have a deep push(foot bends a lot on my push)& the bottom of the SST8's is VERY stiff.  So stiff infact that its fairly hard for me to bend them by hand.

I believe i am about to buy a pair of 3g's simply because im tired of dexter in general & the only dexter heel i like has been discontinued for years now(flat grooved).

Sorry for the rant, just figured i would chime in with my personal SST8 problems.

once you try the 3g tour ultra's you'll wonder why you didn't get a pair sooner.

well, ive used dexters for....well, as long as i can remember, but after the discontinuing of the heels i use, & some of the soles changing, plus my 8s falling appart....im considering trying out a pair.

Im just hoping that someone would be willing to buy my literally brand new SST8's when i get the 3gs

Yeah, should of invested in a pair of 3G Ultra's. They don't make a better bowling shoe than that. I have 6 years on my current pair and they still look brand new.

My white SST8s are holding up fine. No signs of wear at all. My team mates black pair are falling apart on the front toe, but he was able to add some glue and they are fine. I have no issues nor has he with changing soles/heels and velcro issues. We both adjust ours depending on what house.

From what I''ve seen on other people, if you drag your toe, you''re going to mess these shoes up...

I have had my SST 8's since they came out on the market. I have finally had to replace a sole on my shoes and a heel. So I will say that I have not had any complaints and usally don't have any cause those are the only shoes that I wear that I can trust to hold up.

still have my original ABS Tour Ultras as my back ups but bought a pair of DynoRooz Tour Ultras when my supplier had them on closeout 3 years ago.

There are no better shoes made in my opinion.
