Title: About to get some dynorooz
Post by: cmchau on March 07, 2007, 05:59:01 PM
I'm planning on getting some dynorooz but cannot make up my mind between two pairs
I'm hoping for some input so i can make my decision and I don't really see people with dyno around here for me to ask.

I was thinking about getting the Sport Ultra black/burgandy cause i think they look the best
or should i go for the best shoes and get the tour ultra for 30 dollars more. Is there any real different with comfort and such other than that the tour ultra comes with the cleats?

you might also consider the sport elite cabretta's. they are inbetween the two models you are looking at. they are very light and comfortable yet are very sturdy. they use soft, supple sheepskin leather, the type you see in golf gloves. they come with 4 soles and 4 heels. i liked them so much i bought two pairs of them.

The cleats, cleat sole, shoe bag, and shoe horns are some of the extras that you get with the Tour Ultas.  Friend of mine has the pair of shoes that you are looking at and I have the tour ultras.  Both shoes are the same in the comfort area.  Personally I would recommend spending the extra a getting the cleat sole, for me that cleats allow you to fine tune your slide better then just heels and soles.  Anyways I hope this helps

I also like the cleats (tour ultras).  I can adjust the slide to exactly what I want.  I would also suggest getting the adjustable heel as well.  This doesn't come with the shoes, but is well worth the extra money.

Unless you're strapped for cash, the TUs are well worth the money.

I ordered one pair of tour ultra in the size of 9 1/2. This is the size I normaly wear every day. The shoes are huge like a boat. I had to send it back and order an 8 1/2 hope this will fit better. Do you guys find that these are bigger than the normal shoes or it is just me??? (sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm a beginner).

I wear the sport ultras black/burgandy. No complaints at all. Wonderful feel and fit. My son has the Rooz "Shuffler." Quality is top notch on both. IMHO "The Shuffler" is the best looking shoe in the Dynorooz lineup.

On Edit: My shoes fit true to size compared to regular sneakers.

My shoes run true to size; same as any other shoe I buy.

I have the Tour Ultras and these shoes are great.  They are extremely comfortable and the heel/sole combinations give me the exact amount of slide that I want.

Question about the soles:

I've found the deerskin (#4) sole combined with the rippled heel gives me the slide I need on the lanes I bowl. I tried to have just a little bit more so I went according to the chart on their site and put on the Flat Heel + Oiled leather (#5 - dark brown). This combination does not give any slide at all I almost hurt myself trying it . Is there a problem with the #5 sole I have or there is really that big of a difference between #4 and #5?

I had the Ultras and didn't like them because they baked my feet.  I switched to these about a year ago and love 'em:

The diff. from the sports and the ultras are that the sports are not full kanagroo leather. The ultras are full, the sports are a mix of roo and cow leather. That is about it, I love my sports but I need to find a lefty who has a 10 1/2 and would want to switch his left foor for my left foot so I can have a left foot with all rubber. LOL I know sounds weird but I am a full out planter and I find I need to make sure I cant slide at all.

You could try the Dexter S1 Sole and the Ultra-Brakez heel, that's what I did, and I slid much less than with the usual combos.
