I had a pair of the Dexter SST5 Select Peacocks, the irridescent, cool lookin' shoes they had out last year. Well, not long after I bought them, the peacock stuff started flaking off and the toe on my plant foot began to wear down since I drag it behind me. The sole eventually started coming off on the same shoe -- my proshop told me there's nothing they can do!! I called Dexter and they told me to ship the shoes back to them with a letter detailing why I think they're defective. If they agreed, they would replace the shoes. I sent them back, and about a week later, I have a brand spankin' new pair of the Blue/Grey SST5 Select Classics!! That's some great customer service right there!! Unfortunately, I haven't changed my bowling style, so I figure the same thing will happen again in a few months. My wife got me a pair of the ABS Tour Ultras and, so far, they are just fantastic!! Big bonus is the replaceable toe cap on the plant shoe. Never have to worry about wearing down my sole like before. I was thinking of trying to modify my Dexters to take the toe cap -- who knows, maybe it will work.....
