New shoes on a budget.
« on: November 16, 2015, 03:48:53 PM »
I've always just used double slide bowling shoes throughout my youth days and my on again off again adult leagues. They seemed to always work fine for me but lately I've been bowling at a new House and I'm having trouble with slipping on the brand new approaches.

I don't think I'm at the point where I want to deal with having a bunch of different shoe pieces to carry around, nor do I feel like it would be a good time to dish out $150 for a pair of shoes. However, having at least a push off sole sure seems like it would be handy to have since I bit it twice this weekend lol.

I'd love to hear any experiences or guidance the community could give me on some budget friendly Right Hand only kicks :)

Thanks!

On BowlingBall.com they have been selling their pyramid shoes for reasonable prices. Their mens ra right footed shoes are on sale now for under $50. They do not have interchangeable soles, but are a solid pair of kicks. A link is provided below. Good luck on your search!

Falling is dangerous and not an option. How much will it cost you if you hurt yourself in a fall and miss work?

The Brunswick shoes above look like a good option. The slide is interchangeable and you will likely need a s4 or S5 instead of the S8.

Also, you can find some good deals on eBay at times.

Good luck.

Check Shoeline.com I got a pair of SST5 shoes in my size for $30.00 shipped. They have coupon deals for 25-30% off frequently, so their $99.00 pair of SST6 shoes listed here could be $70.00!:

Right now the coupon code I see is dealalert15 which makes them $85.00, but a lot of sizes available.

Westex,
Keep an eye on ebay. I picked up a brand new pair of Dexter SST 8 shoes for $85. I have bought a number of pairs of shoes on that site dirt cheap in comparison to retail prices. For example search for (bowling shoes size 11 RH). Choices will be many.

Well i ended up going with the Stealth shoes and I've very happy with them so far; my slipping issue is officially a thing of the past :)

Love the look and feel but I am a toe dragger and I'm starting to really rub the toe of the shoe; anyone have some advice on what to use to keep from rubbing a hole? I'm wondering if using something like Tuff toe for baseball cleats would work well.

Cut a piece of leather to fit and super glue it on the spot. It will solve that issue.
