Over the summer I have finished reading the follow books:
the pro approach - Larry Matthews
I like this book, I read it twice and pick it up frequently, whenever I am getting a ball drilled it is nice to review his section on drills; which I recently put my pin on my axis and is a great ball for the one house I bowl at. I would recommend this book to the intermediate bowler.
bowling execution - John Jowdy
This book was very hard to read for me, he went off on talking about the bowlers he coached it really lost my interest. He made some good points, but I just finished it; and I started the end of May.
I know on occassion someone will ask about books, so here is my opinion on these two books.
Another information tool I use is Ron C tips, this is very good free information.

If you can find it, Par Bowling by Thomas Kouros is also an excellent read.

I never agree with women because they are never right...
...lol, but I agree with White Dot here 100%. She is correct. I've owned a lot of books over the years and this is the best ever for me. This book can be purchased from the bowling emporium that pnj1967 has suggested. They carry almost all of the bowling books available today.

The Larry Mathews book: The Pro Approach, is in my eyes one of the best books out there in adjusting to lane dressings.
I did not fully appreciate it when I first read through it, but after going through it a few times I found it to be an absolute gold mine of ideas.
I now go to lanes looking for the oil line and finding it after only a few shots in practice.
It has made finding the best place to play on the lane fairly easy. Which on some patterns can be very difficult.
I also had mine very cheap as I purchased it off Ebay.com where Larry will even sign it for you.
I suggest anyone who gets chance to read it makes a copy of the chart on page 14 and keeps it in their bag.
