Sole and Heel Durability???
« on: February 08, 2008, 09:49:04 AM »
I currently have the S6 sole and H5 heel setup on my shoes, but am wondering how long each component generally lasts before a replacement needs to be made. I still have the extra soles/heels packaged w/ my shoes and don't mind adjusting to them, but I'm most comfortable w/ my current "middle of the road" setup.

Would 2 replacement soles and 1 replacement heel be sufficient? I'm only bowling in 1 league a week right now, but I try to squeeze in some practice sessions when I have time.

Thanks in advance for any advice/input

Usally having one extra of each should last for quite a long time unless the approaches in your area are excessively dirty or rough.

Soles and heels are durable pieces. Only thing I found is that the rougher surfaces can take a little scruffing (sand paper or a sole brush) every now and then, since dust and dirt catches easily. And the other thing is that not the soles themselves do not last, but the (newer?) fine velcro cloth on the top - these tend to wear off more easily, so that the sole gets lost. In my case, this seems to come from wear and tear with each change of soles?

what about the velcro part on the shoe does it seem to last forever or does it tend to wear out just like the ones on the sole and heel? thanks

On my slide shoe, the "hooks" of the velcro are attached the shoe itself. They soles and heels have the "fuzzy" part. The velcro components on the shoe should last. I've taken a close look at mine, and all the tiny hooks are still curled downward haven't straightened out from my pulling off soles or heels. The only way I could think of screwing up the velcro on the shoe is if you walk around in them without having a sole or heel attached. Or, if you pull off the soles from the toe to the middle and heels from the back to the middle.

EDIT: Does anyone change soles as often as they change heels? I'm on my 2nd sole in about 2 months, but still on the same rubber heel.
