TPU-X (New Revision?)
« on: August 31, 2015, 11:05:39 AM »
I been reading some posts where they mentioned that Brunswick revised the TPU-X to fix the toe dragging issue. What is the source for this information, and if you order them, how would you know if you bought the new ones?

Why not contact the manufacturer for the correct answer vs rumors or here say….. .  800-297-8555

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Where I heard it was from the GM at the lanes here, He's a Brunswick staffer. I had told him I was looking at the 9's and he suggested the TPU's.

I asked about the issues people had with them and the toe peeling up, he said they had fixed them in the latest ones. That they removed/rounded or changed some lip that was catching and causing the issue. He showed me on the shoe, but I had never seen the old ones to tell what the difference was.

And I saw a couple of online retailers had this in the description "Fixed TPU Toe Guard for increased durability" take that for what you will.

Update:

This is from the manufacturer:

"The TPU shoes have been revised with the new shipment that we received.  The Push pad has been tapered down a little more to allow for toe draggers to not catch the pad during their slide."

"We still have inventory of the old ones in the blue/black.  Red/black and white/black will have the new ones.  Our latest shipment of blue will have them but we have not gone through old inventory just yet."

Hope this helps.

Additional input from the manufacturer:

"We also reinforced the TPU material more on the latest shipment as well.  So it has a high resistant to friction, the red/black and white/black have that.  The next TPU order will, I had made a mistake on the current black.blue they do not have the new pads like the red ones."

Bottom Line: For now, order the Black/Red or White/Black if you want the revised TPU-X shoes.

I just recently got the old black/blue version and if you are a toe dragger like I am an easy fix is just do what Matt C. did to his add a piece of velcro to the area where you drag and change out when  it gets worn....I have seen no issues.  Easy fix and nothing to it.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the red/black TPU-X's which  are the new version. So we'll see how it goes.

While I'd like to have stayed dexter, the 9's are new, we don't  really know if there are any bugs in them, they only come with one sole and they cost more.

The tpux's have been updated, come with extra soles and are cheaper which saved me enough money to pay for two nights of bowling.
