I had 2 pairs of the black sst8s that the right shoe ripped in the middle near the end of the sole. First pair happened almost a year later I noticed it. That pair I went thru the merchant I bought it from and they replaced them. 2nd pair noticed the problem after 4 months. Called Dexter directly.
Nice lady told me there is a defect in the shoes. Said to email to an address she provided for dexter, then submit a picture of the defect and they would send out new shoes. I sent an email and was sent back that they already fixed the defect and were sending them out to me right away.
I got them in 3 days via UPS and it was a whole package!! Shoes and accessories!
Very pleased about that!
So if you have a pair that is tearing let Dexter know and they will send you out a new pair.
