I hate my SST6's

They feel like clown shoes!  The look like clown shoes!  The footprint is huge!  I was on freshly sanded lanes and with my other shoes I was sliding all over, and so was everyone else, but with my new SST's I was stickin like crazy.  I was using the 8 sole and the 5 heel.  Do I just need to break them in?

My SST6 heels never broke in. Either dead stop or ice skating, depending upon which heel I used.

Try putting teflon tape on the rubber horseshoe tips. That's what I use now and it slides fine.

I can't remember which numbers correspond to which soles and heels, but I've only been able to use 1 pair.  Our approaches just got resurfaced, and it was ice skate city.  I tried switching to the white microfiber sole, and I damn near tore my knee up.  I would love to break it in, but I have a feeling I'll break something else first.

It took a while for me to break in the heal that I use on my 6's.  I actually utilized a cobination of a wire brush / ez slide and wearing the shoes around the house.  They will break in eventually...

My #5 heel stuck a bit when I wore my SST6's the first couple of times, but dust under the ball return worked great for getting the heel to feel like my old Linds (I had to switch shoe brands because of foot problems).

Try the red leather heel which i believe is a #8. What type of shoes did you have before? SST6's make you stand up a bit more in the footbed and the heels are a bit more elevated so they tend to grab a bit more than most. Although i like mine they are heavy and clown-like.
