Dexter for me! And the new Triheel
« on: August 21, 2006, 03:56:09 AM »
Well so ends a year and 1/2 experiment!

I got some of the more inexpensive Dynorooz!
Sport Deluxe I think.  Adjustable soles and heels.  Super comfortable, rock solid construction...look great...I get tons of comments on them.

Work good also...but only on Wood and some of the new textured synthetic approaches!

For whatever reason and I thought it was the Border they have around the sole...and the threads to hold that sole border in place....I would always feel they were running away from me on slick synthetic surfaces like OLD non textured anvilane approaches.  Then the actual sole inside the border would kick in(but the outside sole border is slicker than the soles I like to use).

Now I've gone back to Dexter SST6 LXs.  I don't like the fit as well as they are a tinch tight as they no longer make lefty wide!
I never felt that Dexter made the most durable shoe...certainly not like the linds(that I see...some 10 years + and over).

BUT for bowling and bowling control of slide...the Dexters are unbeatable.
Because what one gets in the front is exactly the surface one wants. Then in the back I like the new SST6 heels even better than I liked my SST5 heels(new horshoe design).  I am particularly a fan of their new triheel design.
For people who want a great slide on synthetics but don't want to use the red (very slippery heel) I believe the new triheel is unbeatable.  Many guys have switched to it in our center and are tearing the place up like they haven't ever before while looking absolutely their best at the foul line!

I've coupled up the newer number 7 sole and the triheel and am controlling Brunswick Anvilane(slick approaches) and being more balanced and getting better extension out toward the target than I have....in years!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I intend to take my Dynorooz to a local shoe guy and have him tell me if the sole border and stitching is required to keep the shoe together or if he can just remove the border without the shoe falling apart!  Without the sole border...I do love my dynorooz!

Yep i just switched from red heel to tri heel 2 weeks ago best move i have made shoe wise, my sst5's are still kicking after 6 years with them. I now use a number 8 sole to go along with the tri heel, my old setup was a number 6 sole with the number 7 red heel.

Same feeling I think...that tri heel gradually increases the brake the more of it you get down...I think slick is the first surface, less, and then finally the most brake....awesome!

You've been to an old synthetic house and they slide MORE than wood or textured synthetics?  What do they do to their approaches?  I know people that won't bowl in an old synthetic house because of the tacky approaches.  If this house has found a consistant way to make their approaches slide, I'd love to hear it.

The old synthetic houses for ME...either are extremely sticky...when humid...or extremely slippery when cold and low humidity.

Many solve the problem of rubber heels on these surfaces with the red heel!
I find that always too slippery though I like to slide.  I have found the Triheel to be a perfect match for me on the recent humidity conditions on this slippery (lately)old style synthetics(which can be sticky too).

I have found on wood or the new textured approaches(seem to act like wood for me) to have a narrower range of slippery to sticky.  Often once I go there I find one of the traditional rubber heels are perfect for the moderate amount I like to slide.

Always for me...the red non rubber heel...always too slippery for me!

To clarify even a little more...my heels are always the problem per say if I find approaches too sticky.

To clarify a little more...the sole BORDERS of the Dynorooz were almost always too slippery for the lanes I bowled on... Often I felt the surface I put inside the sole border was less slippery and the sets I use inside this border were all the slipperier soles EXCEPT the #10 felt sole(always too slippery for me).  YET this slippery sole border always felt like in the initial part of the slide...it was running away from me!

So in that VERY slippery sole border I would use anything from leather from Dynarooz #6, to #7 to #8.  All of these in the sole would seem to have less slip than the very slippery border...which for me...seemed to slip away from me....THEN the inside surface of the sole(inside the border would take over) but now I was already out of balance.  Dexter = no slippery sole border ...problem solved.

I DO NOT know if the top end shoe has these same very prominent stitches in this border or not like the great looking sport deluxe....that seemed to be the root of the problem on these sole borders!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I wish someone from Dynorooz or Dynothane would chime in here...

What is the triheel?  Is this a new heel that just came out?  I have always used the red heel with mine as I find everything else too sticky.

It is a fairly new heel...it is listed as a number 5 versus what you use is the number 7 heel.  If you love the 7 you don't need this.

If you like the 7 but think you want just a bit more brake...to me the Triheel 5 slides a little better on synthetics than the rubber solid number 5...I think they should have called it heel #6!

It is perfect for me on many of our local synthetics.  The old number 5 I like better on wood!

Triheel

You can order it here or from your local proshop.

Rippled reversible h2 for life!

Now if they only made a sole that could stop a locomotive dead in its' tracks I'd never have a balance problem at the line again.

DP3...talk about that.

ripple forward for most stop?....ripple backwards on this number two heel equates to what...a 3?  A 4?  In your mind?

Had a friend who not seen me bowl this summer see me today...he couldn't believe it!

"Your balance looks great!  Your extension thru the ball incredible! Is that you?"

Yada yada yada !

"It's just my Dexters and the Triheel...I used to be known for this I modestly replied!"

Thank you Dexter...thank you Triheel!  Conquering the toughest condition I've ever seen in my life is hard enough...without being off balance!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS and when they turn sticky...the triheel keeps slidin away...smoothly!
