Etonic Stabilite Plus (long)
« on: May 19, 2006, 02:34:37 AM »
I've had these now for about 2  months and they are easily the most comfortable bowling shoes I've had, including the SST6 and the ABS Tour Ultras.  My main problems with those shoes was the lack of arch support.  I had developed a case of plantar fasciitis (pain in the heel) with my SST Comforts and even with medication I could never totally get rid of it. The pain was the worse during bowling (no issues during golf).  After switching to these, I immediately felt no pain and now have been pain free for 2 months and was able to go off the medication after about a week with them.

These feel like tennis shoes.  Lots of support in the arch and heel.  Very stable.  The only drawback may be the lack of changeable heel and lack of sole replacements. I haven't changed a heel since changeable soles have been introduced so that's not an issue and I've tested a few Dexter and ABS soles with no problems to see if those would work as replacements.

I get plenty of comments and compliments on them.  So many people are like "man, I didn't think you are bowling", "are you bowling in tennis shoes?" and "those look really comfortable".  I'm not sure about durability but I've had several pair of Etonic golf shoes that lasted a long time with much more wear and tear than bowling.  I'll definately be getting a backup pair just in case they stop making them.

I got a pair of the stabilite plus when they were first introduced. I picked the Red ones with the chrome and they definately grab your attention. They are very comfortable but not very flexible. I thought that I would have a problem with the heel and amount of slide, but I dont. Ive found that as long as you keep it clean it is as it says Perfect!

And who makes these?  You have it right in your post, but the post's title is a little off.  LOL
