are  Cab's  for  abralon pads or are they something  different

Normal CABs for sandpaper have the hook cloth of the Velcro's hook and loop, on them. Those hooks will hold Scotch-Brite nylon pads, for sure. They may be able to hold, to grasp the holes in the foam backing of the Abralon pads. SOme people do use them that way.

However, that foam conforms nicely to the palm of your hand; so you can, fairly safely, use that method, as CABs are very expensive.

(FYI CABs for Trizact have the loop portion of the hook and loop, as Trizact pads have the hook portion on them.)
