Dexter shoe setup
« on: January 23, 2005, 11:02:14 AM »
I was using the red heal and just switched to the #5 rubber one, it took awhile to get used to but much easier to get a little extra on the ball now. With the red heal I would slide through the hit persay and never get a natural feel at the release. On synthetics the red heal works pretty good but on wood I had to switch.

What works best for your release?

I am surely not the only one here with the SST 6's, how are you setting yours up?

i have a longer slide than most contemporary players today and the #8 slide sole and the #5 flat rubber heel works best for me.

I use the most agressive heal the raised rubber horseshoe, I don't plant at all but it stops me just right and the others not enough.  I never change the heel oddly enough I use an ABS sole I cut to fit my dexters most of the houses i bowl and practice at are wood and all dexters slid too much or not enough, can't remember which ABS it is but its perfect for wood, on synthetis I use a #6 dexter sole.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.
Now that I am back and my Saws are sharp again, I am ready to cut some wood.

Red no 4 sole and the no5 heel I think.
Helps me get a good release. I used to use a more slidy sole, but found I get through the ball much better with this setup.
