A few days ago I said I would order this glove to test it out. I ordered it that day and it showed up today - gotta love bowlingball.com!
I haven't had a chance to actually use it, but I did pull inserts out of an existing ball to see how it would feel and how it would fit. Here are my first impressions:
It appears to be well made. I don't see anything that stands out as being a "weak link" as far as coming apart or wearing prematurely.
It's not the most comfortable thing I've used.
First thought upon putting it on - it feels bulky. Also looks like it may add a little bit to your span. There is a leather "flap" that covers your palm, along with the velcro strap that secures it around your hand.
I don't find it particularly comfortable. It's not the easiest thing to put on, but it's not difficult. You can't really do much with your hand when you have it on. Even picking up a drink is cumbersome. Personally I think the flap is too large - it seems like it will interfere with my thumb.
Within the first few minutes of having it on, I came up with numerous ways I would have done it differently. I won't list them here - I'm not in the product design/improvement business
As far as the span, I don't think I'll need to make any adjustments. I have a relaxed span, so maybe that helps? I imagine if you used more of a stretched span it may require adjustment. Remember, you now basically have a strap of leather on your palm.
As far as testing it out, I'm up for suggestions. I guess my main plan was to take 1 or 2 balls to the lanes. I could throw the balls with inserts - I would need a few frames to get lined up - then remove the inserts and bowl with the glove. Maybe bowl 2-3 games with inserts, then 2-3 games with the glove?
I have a few pics up now, but I'll post some more pics of the glove a little bit later.
