« on: August 12, 2003, 03:44:15 AM »
Most of todays bowlers use Dexters but whY?
i been using them a long time!
but they suck! i have 3 pairs over 2 years! all SST 5 or 6...plus iam a lefty so only 2 pairs out of the 5-6 colors they have are in left! WhATS UP WITh THAT!
wells..i just got a new pair about 5 months ago and their aready falling apart on me! iam not very happy with this but dexters wont do anything about them! THE NUMBER 1 problem with dexters! the vecro DyeS after 5 months! i know that for a fact!
DEXTERS PLEASE StEP up TO THE PLATE AND START DOING YOUR JOB!

abs's have been much better for me. the velcro lasts much longer on the sole and heal and plus there are more variations. it may be costlier but its worth it.

Hmmm,

I've never tried any Dexters before,I heard several
diff' things about em,"Good and Bad".

Have you tried any Linds?

I still have my origanal pair of UGLY Royal light blue 11 1/2EE
extra widee and they still perform to this day!

I'll be fair, they have lots of rubs on the color and its 40+% gone,BUT
if you dont care how ugly a shoe gets as long as it works with your bowling.

BTW,I bought these in 1987!!

I just bought two back up pairs of these Linds on eBay.

Another pair of Royal Light Blue(RH)EE and a Dark Green
w/Black (LH)EE pair!!

Well you decide what you wanna do,if you wanna a shoe
that will last a long time,try a linds.If not I hope
a BETTER DEXTER is made for you.

My dexters have lasted 4 years-
and I bet I put more games on my shoes than most people...

Linds also wear like iron.

I don't know why some people go through dexters so quickly!

I buy a custom made sole and heels made by a pro-shop in MN. he advertises in the back of BTM.

the soles are thicker and more durable. I find his adjustment easier. especially jumping from dexters 8 to to. when 8 sticks a little 10 is like skating on Ice.

there expensive but after using them I would never use dexter sole/heels again.

It's hard to explain them. nothing odd or anything like that. Just pics are worth a tousand words. I hate typing.

Slightly off-topic, but...

Any info on easing of the Dexter bowling shoe production backlog?
Looking for new SST4 Esquire (12/RH), and the on-line outlets that I've used and are comfortable with (bowling.com, bowlersparadise.com) remain out of stock.  May have to go with the SST5 Black/Gold.

(Apologies to Buddie's Pro Shop...have read all the rave reviews as to service, but have to be a least slightly skeptical when they are the only site that's shows availability.  Maybe they have a connection somewhere...Link to Fave Movie Line thread - Gekko to Bud Fox in Wall Street: "I guess your father's not a union rep at that company...The most valuable commodity I know of is information.  Wouldn't you agree on that?")

nycatl...why be skeptical of Buddies?  Ever think that they bought a bunch in a shoe package and haven't unloaded them yet?  I would give them a call and talk to Chris, Bill, etc. before I make a judgement.  Maybe their site isn't correct...be they are human like the rest of us.  Check the facts before you make an comment as you did.

Goof,

Agreed...and certainly I will take the time to contact one of the gentlemen you referred.  Maybe its the ex-New Yorker in me.

That being said, I tried not to make it a slap at Buddies, because, as I said, I've heard nothing but great things.
