According to Etonic's website the uppers on the Tour Master are made from microfiber. Not from a type of leather. It will be interesting to see how a top-of-the line shoe NOT made from leather sells let alone holds up.

You can't judge quality just on returns alone. In order to know the proper return ratio you also need to know the amount of each shoe sold.

As for the new Etonic shoe, it looks interesting, but, when asking about these shoes to a pro shop operator and some other bowlers, they too, had nothing good to say about the Etonic brand. I am not a quality control expert, like some, and can only give an opinion based on what I have heard. You can never really tell unless you try them for yourself, maybe this is the shoe that can make people think twice about choosing the Etonic brand.

love my Etonics... stability dress. Have had them for almost 3 years now, and they have worn very little and fit and feel great, and cost me very little compared to any similar product out there.

I do business with probably the best pro shop in the Kansas City area and was there today having several new balls drilled up. I noticed that he carries NO Etonic shoes of any type. I asked him about the Etonic Tour Master. He told me NO ONE from Etonic nor anyone from his distributor had called him about this shoe. He also stated that he had received NO inquiries about this shoe. So much for advertising and marketing. Good luck Etonic.

One nice thing about this shoe is noone can sell them for less than the $159.95.  Etonic has set the minimum you can sell them for leveling the playing field for online and brick and mortar shops.  Look for all brands to follow suit.  Shop with confidense at your local shop.

It seems Etonic cares very little about their bowling division. Maybe that is why it took them 6 years to develop a show with interchangeable heels

Actually they have been trying repeatedly to produce a high end shoe that could complete with dexter and anyone else.

but lawsuit and patent problems over and over again have hampered there efforts. this shoe is a serious attempt and should not be overlooked if people are for a high end shoe.

Got them in. They are very lightweight.  nothing about the style really stands out. Plenty of slide.

Remember, ALL BOWLING IS LOCAL!

I still have my doubts as to whether serious bolwers will pay $150 for a pair of bowling shoes that are NOT made of leather.

I got mine a week ago and used them for the first time last night.  They are all that I expected.  They are really comfortable and a good fitting shoe.  It was nice to play around with the sliding customization.  I got the correct slide that I wanted.

I have sst8's and they will be on ebay soon.

I like my Etonic Dress shoes very much.  I was anxiously awaiting the release of these shoes.  After seeing them in preson i will not be buying.... they are pleather, and ugly.

Sorry Etonic...

As far as I'm concerned both Etonic and Dexter missed the boat by not using kangaroo leather like 3G does. Kangaroo leather has 10 times the strength of cowhide and is 50% stronger than goatskin. It is also much more supple. The only downside is the cost.......kangaroo leather is more expensive. But this is one of those situations where you really do get what you pay for.

Greg: I see you're still pimping 3G like you own the company. It's cool that you like your Ultras, but you clearly don't have a clue about some of the advantages of at least the Dexters, so give it a rest.

Pimping ? Since I'm not getting paid by anyone except my employer this really isn't the correct word. However, I will always tout a product that is made of a superior material or a product that has a definite advantage.

I only buy authentic Swiss Army knives made by Wenger or Victorinox..........any other swiss army-type knife is a bad copy made with inferior parts and suspect labor.

I wouldn't buy a television except for a plasma model from Panasonic and it must have Directv in HD. Great picture and clarity especially movies and sports

My wife and I will not buy any brand of automobile except for Acura and Honda. We've had a dozen or so over the years and have never had a problem. Great car, great reliability, great quality.

I wore Dexters for over 6-7 years and in that time owned at least 5-6 pairs of top line models( SST 4's, 5's, and 6's ). Not being able to the right slide and frustrating customer service drove me away for good. Have had just the opposite results with 3G Tour Ultra's. Great shoes and great customer service.

I have spoken with several men who repair shoes and leather goods for living.......one an old timer with 40 years of experience. Both have stated the superiority of kangaroo leather over cowhide. That's what this boils down to........shoes made from cowhide and microfiber are not as good as shoes made from kangaroo leather.
